Kirk Senate Victory a Must for Illinois
On July 20, 2009, Kirk announced his candidacy for the U.S. Senate seat held by Roland Burris, which was held by Barack Obama before his election as president. The election of Kirk to fill the Burris seat is critical to Illinois.

In a U.S. Senate race that has become one of the nastiest in the nation, Kirk is leading his democratic opponent Alexi Giannoulias who came under intense scrutiny after the Chicago Sun-Times reported that Giannoulias Broadway Bank loaned Tony Rezko and Iraqi felon/billionaire Nadhmi Auchi $22,750,000 on February 14, 2006. Auchi reportedly had ties with Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.
At the time of the loan, the Wall Street Journal Prime Rate stood at 7.5%. Rezkos $22.75 million loan, at the 7.5% prime rate, would have yielded $709,800 in interest payments for the Giannoulias family over the life of the loan. As a 3.6% shareholder in Broadway Bank, Giannoulias share of the interest income would have been $25,552.80.
Giannoulias has received, and continues to hold, $37,741.50 from known Tony Rezko associates. Included in the total is money from Michael Winter and Myron Cherry, whose contributions Barack Obama considered too tainted to hold onto.
Kirk, a five-term US congressman, is currently a member of the United States House of Representatives representing the Illinois’s 10th congressional district. He is a true fiscal conservative who will fight for the principles of freedom. According to a recent Rasmussen Poll, eighty-two percent of GOP voters favor Kirk:
The Kirk Record

Kirk on Ethics and Reform: “Illinois deserves an experienced legislator with a proven record of reform to fight for integrity in public office. During the past several years, corrupt politicians who served themselves instead of the people of Illinois misrepresented our state. It is time to set a new course. It’s time for something different.”
Do we want the cabal of Dick Durbin, Alexi Giannoulias and the Chicago Machine to represent us?
