Many of us are Vietnam and Cold War Era Veterans. We are proud, but not boastful. We don’t need to be called heroes. All they ask for is respect and to not be forgotten. Above all, never, ever, will we allow this generation of warriors to be treated when they come home as we were treated when we returned. Never again will an American warrior be scorned and vilified as John Kerry did to Viet Nam vets and Dick Durbin did to Iraqi vets.
It is the
VETERAN,
not the preacher,
who has given us freedom of religion.
It is
the VETERAN,
not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press.
It is
the VETERAN,
not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.
It is
the VETERAN,
not the campus organizer,
who has given us freedom to assemble.
It is
the VETERAN,
not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is
the VETERAN,
not the politician,
Who has given us the right to vote.
It is the
VETERAN who
salutes the Flag,
God Bless them all.
