Connect With YOUR Constitution On April 26

Over the course of human history, there have been hundreds of revolutions, but only one revolution led to a functioning Representative government grounded in freedom of the individual.

The US Constitution establishes three branches of government, but with a focus on restraints and limits on the powers of each branch as well as specific protections for the rights of the individual. The core value of the US Constitution is freedom of the individual in opposition to the authority and powers of the state. There is no system of government on the planet that protects freedom more than the US Constitution.

On April 26th, The Huntley Tea Party will host a meeting on the core concepts of our Constitution. Our featured guest speaker is Chad Kent, writer and award-winning speaker on the Constitution and the principles of freedom. We will discuss the core concepts of freedom embedded in our Constitution as well as what we as citizens need to know today to secure the freedoms guaranteed to us and the next generation.

John Adams said: “The way to secure liberty is to place it in the people’s hands, that is, to give them the power at all times to defend it in the legislature and in the courts of justice.” Get informed with the facts about our federal system of government and what has to change today to secure our freedoms.

Mark your calendar for April 26th. Meet and Greet from 6:30 to 7:00 PM, and 7:00 PM session at the Cosman Center, 12015 Mill St, Huntley IL. See you there!

Hayes Scolds Media for Shoddy Work on Buffett Rule: ‘Reporters Should Do Their Job’: “It’ll probably work politically,” The Weekly Standard’s Stephen Hayes observed of President Obama’s “fairness”-based “Buffett Rule” tax hike quest, “but don’t reporters have a job to do here?” On FNC’s Special Report on Tuesday night he noted the 30 percent income tax rate on capital gains “would raise less than six percent of the total cost of the stimulus” and “would raise roughly the same amount in one year” as “the U.S. government accumulates in debt in a single day.” Declaring it “totally meaningless,” Hayes asserted “there’s nothing serious about” Obama’s economic plan and so, he suggested in an idea with little chance of occurring, “reporters should do their job and put this in perspective.” No surprise, they didn’t on Tuesday night and haven’t in the past.

Nothing to See: Only ABC Mentions the Hundreds of Billions ObamaCare Will Add to Deficit: NBC and CBS completely skipped a new report indicating that Barack Obama’s health care law will add hundreds of billions of dollars to the national debt. ABC’s Good Morning America on Tuesday allowed a mere 17 seconds to the revelation that the law could balloon the deficit by $340 billion. News reader Josh Elliott swiftly explained, “And President Obama’s health care law could up costing a lot more than previously expected, at least according to one new study. It found that the law could add some $340 billion to the federal deficit over the next decade.” However, he also parroted talking points that, according to the White House, the study was simply “new math.” This was the only mention on GMA. NBC’s Today and CBS This Morning ignored the story.

Alzheimer’s Early Detection Test Gets FDA Approval: Until now, Alzheimer’s-indicating proteins could only be spotted in autopsies after death. A test that could better detect the early signs of Alzheimer’s has just gotten FDA approval. Until now, Alzheimer’s-indicating proteins could only be spotted in autopsies after death. CNN Asks if Romney’s ‘Rich Guy Image’ Will Hurt Him, Although Polls Show Americans Don’t Care: CNN continued to hype the possible negative implications of Mitt Romney’s “rich guy image” on Monday evening, even though a new poll reports 71 percent of Americans said Romney’s wealth is “not a major factor” in their presidential decision. The network blared such headlines as “Is his [Romney's] big fortune a big political liability?” and “Wealth Will Be an Issue in 2012.” CNN correspondent Joe Johns ran yet another segment on the possibility that Romney’s wealthy image could hurt him in the November elections. When Romney took his family on vacation for Easter at an expensive California beach house, CNN jumped on the story. “Mitt Romney tries for a little rest and relaxation at his beachfront home out in California, but taking a little bit more heat for his rich guy image,” noted Wolf Blitzer.

RNC Chair Reince Mocks Liberal Bias of MSNBC: Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus on Wednesday mocked the liberal, pro-abortion bias of MSNBC, educating anchor Thomas Roberts about the so-called “war on women.” After Priebus denied such an attack on females existed, Roberts dismissed, “But Chairman, how can you say that it’s a fiction if you stand on the record on what the Republican Party has said and done?” Priebus highlighted the pro-Obama spin of MSNBC, taking it right to the network: “If you believe that all women are pro-abortion, maybe in your own world, maybe there’s a war on women.” An indignant Roberts huffed, “I think he term is pro-choice.” Continuing to call out MSNBC, Priebus attacked, “…You and I are never going to be on same page because I happen to believe that life begins at conception and you don’t.”

The French Presidential Election: What If Sarkozy Loses?
On April 22, voters will cast their ballots for the next leader of France and based on current opinion polls it appears that President Nicholas Sarkozy will lose to the Socialist candidate, Francois Hollande. Alarm bells are now going off in Europe over Hollande’s promise to reopen the EU’s recently passed fiscal treaty as fears grow that he will kill hopes of budgetary reform in Europe.

North Korea Missile Launch is Extortion Attempt
North Korea hopes to achieve multiple aims with its planned missile test, which it claims is the launch of a satellite, says Mark Groombridge, deputy editor of LIGNET.com and an expert on nonproliferation. Not only does the test commemorate the 100th birthday of the “great leader,” Kim Il Sung, but it also is meant to demonstrate to the world that his grandson, 28-year-old Kim Jong Un, is firmly in control of the military. And it is also to keep up appearances — to maintain North Korea’s threatening posture and policy of global extortion to extract food aid and other assistance from the international community.

The Voice of Our Seniors
Last week, I met with more than one hundred seniors at two town hall meetings in Naperville and Bolingbrook. Overwhelmingly, the seniors I talk to are most worried about our nation’s massive $15 trillion debt and what it means for the future of their children and grandchildren.

Not surprisingly, they also are concerned about Medicare, which is estimated to run out of money by 2024. Adding to that concern, the Administration’s health overhaul cut Medicare by $500 billion and created a new board of unelected bureaucrats called IPAB with unchecked power to determine future coverage for seniors.

I’ve always said that a promise made is a promise kept and we cannot allow the government to break its promise to seniors who have paid into the system. That’s why our House budget would return spending to a post-World War II average of about 20% of GDP and strengthen Medicare. It doesn’t change Medicare for anyone now over 55, but for those still a decade or more from retirement, it offers competitive cost-savings through a choice of personalized plans, including a traditional option. To learn more about our ideas to save and strengthen Medicare, visit the House Budget Committee’s website here.

Pakistan: Reaction to Bounty Reveals Thin Support for U.S.
The United States is bleeding allies in Pakistan and nothing, it seems, can stop this ominous development – not even a $10 million award offered for the capture of terrorist Hafiz Mohammed Saeed. The bounty the United States placed on Saeed, in fact, has evoked a hostile response from Islamists across Pakistan, revealing the depth of anti-Americanism in the country and perhaps the eclipse of Washington’s influence in Pakistan.

U.S. Choice to Head World Bank Raises Eyebrows
On April 18, the World Bank will choose a new president and for the first time in history, the person picked to lead this important international organization may not be an American. The post is usually hand-picked by the White House, but President Obama’s surprise selection of a health care expert, Jim Yong Kim, has triggered unexpected opposition as well as two high-profile alternative candidates.

Egypt: Political Battle for the Future Heats Up
The stormy political situation in Egypt reflects a diverse array of interests vying for power as important electoral deadlines approach. New uncertainty arose on April 10 when an Islamist-dominated constitution drafting panel was blocked by an Egyptian court. While the track of the political process seems to favor the Muslim Brotherhood, this is far from certain due to widespread political maneuvering and infighting. Another Obama foreign policy fiasco.

Uphill Battle Ahead at Nuclear Talks with Iran
Bowing to international pressure, Iran has agreed to talks with major powers on its nuclear program but the odds are against a significant breakthrough. Iran has been producing large quantities of low enriched uranium and could have enough fissile material for six nuclear devices by the end of 2012 if enriched to weapons grade. This issue, which the UN Security Council has called on Iran to halt, will be at the top of the West’s agenda for the talks.
