Last week the Senate held a vote to rein in the EPA and stop the regulations that will all but kill the coal industry. On June 21, the measure was defeated by the Democrats. They had a little help from five Republicans. Early in his administration, in a nationally televised speech, Barack Obama promised radical environmentalists he would destroy the coal industry in America. It seems, that is one promise he is determined to keep.
The actions of these Republican (RINO) Senators who crossed over and voted with the Democrats to kill off coal in the US — to stifle growth, to further burden those already struggling with the loss of equity in their homes, to ensure that the economy remains moribund, all for the cheap grace of pretending to support a cleaner environment.
These people were voted to office by Republicans and, a is often the case, they take every opportunity to get in bed with the Democrats. Many times it is something as simple as a trade: ‘I’ll vote with you, if you return the favor’. Just doing business, you say. No, it is a betrayal of their office and their party and a slap in the face of the men and women who voted for them.
Because not only did these GOP Senators — Lamar Alexander, Scott Brown, Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, and Kelly Ayotte — cross over to help the Democrats defeat the Inhofe bill, the fact that they crossed over allowed several Democrat Senators up for re-election to themselves cross over and pretend to be conservative and pro-growth without costing their Party the vote.
It was about 93 degrees with high humidity here in Chicago. What will days like this be like when the rolling brownouts and blackouts begin? And what about the Americans whose livelihood depends on coal? I guess they’re just collateral damage.
Exactly the way Democrats think.
And it’s the way RINO’s justify joining the other party on so many critical issues.
