On Tuesday, August 21, 2012 Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky (D-9) failed to show up at a protest in Evanston designed to blame presumptive Republican Presidential nominee Mitt Romney over the loss of 170 jobs at the manufacturing facility of Sensata Technologies of Freeport, IL. 9th District Congressional candidate Tim Wolfe was on hand at the planned protest to clarify economic principles.
The Democratic policies of tax and spend work against any kind of economic recovery. Then we get the kind of major economic problems that Schakowsky helped create. And all the fake demonstrations in the world will not help fix it. Actual economic reforms need to take place.
Republican Tim Wolfe recognizes that in order to achieve any kind of economic recovery, it is necessary to have policies in alignment with first principles. A free market provides growth and activity and ultimately economic prosperity. More government (and the taxes necessary to pay for it) depresses growth and innovation because government is not the motivation for entrepreneurship. Success is.
Wolfe stated that this planned protest displays the fact that Schakowsky will use the difficulties of others to promote herself and her assumed fiefdom of the 9th District. Wolfe went on to question Schakowsky’s false concern over constituents in a district that is not her own while doing nothing to promote private sector jobs in the 9th District.
Wolfe further stated, “The fact that Illinois continues to lose jobs and tax revenues as businesses move to more business-friendly climates means we need to find ways of correcting the policies that create this result. This is a challenge that I will enthusiastically address.”
