Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy, last week responding to a recent Federal appeals court ruling striking down Illinois’ ban on concealed carry, predicted legal gun owners would be shot by Chicago police officers. As the city’s cops are already shooting dogs for no apparent reason, We at ICE News guess the leap to shooting lawful gun owners isn’t such a stretch. Exactly what else did you expect from an Obama, Emanuel, Madigan one party, gun-grabbing dictatorship?
During an interview with WVON radio, McCarthy said:
“You put more guns on the street expect more shootings. I don’t care if they’re licensed legal firearms, people who are not highly trained… putting guns in their hands is a recipe for disaster. So I’ll train our officers that there is a concealed carry law, but when somebody turns with a firearm in their hand the officer does not have an obligation to wait to get shot to return fire and we’re going to have tragedies as a result of that. I’m telling you right up front.”
This anti-gun cradle-to-grave indoctrination has been ongoing for decades and is just one example of the gradualism the elites (read; leftist Democrats) use to advance their cause glacially. Gradualism is necessary for the elites to retain power. Anything can be accomplished over a long period of time, as people accept this conditioning as normal.
The Leftists are aided and abetted in their controlled chaos by the Fourth Estate and the entertainment industry, which continue the indoctrination of the masses long after they have exited the public non-education system.
As NewsInBlack.com reported, McCarthy would not say what specific training officers will undertake, if any. However, he did admit that in the past his department has made mistakes in shooting unarmed civilians. He believes the concealed carry law will increase those types of unfortunate incidents.
McCarthy’s words are a clear intention to intimidate. Of course, that’s his modus operandi, as GunsSaveLife.com reports of multiple instances of McCarthy abusing his authority (and other people). There are also reports that while McCarthy was a New York police officer, he and his State trooper brother spent a drunken St. Patrick’s Day evening shooting out street lights and shouting racial slurs at a mostly black crowd.
McCarthy’s rant on the radio was nonsensical. No one would expect a police officer being threatened with a gun not to protect himself. But McCarthy’s officers don’t need to worry about law-abiding citizens with concealed carry permits “turn[ing] with a firearm in their hand.”
Illinois has the strictest gun laws in the Nation. Yet there were 2,364 shooting incidents in the city in 2012, an increase of 12 percent over the previous year. Perhaps McCarthy should worry more about reigning in the criminal element in his city — and his abusive police officers who shoot unarmed citizens and dogs — and less about law-abiding citizens out to protect themselves.
That’s not all the bad news coming from Chicago: Chicago was named the worst city for bed bugs! Chicago has moved to the top spot of a list no city wants to be a part of: the most treatments for bed bug infestations.
Pest control company Orkin said January 15 it did more business in Chicago than any other city last year. Chicago had been second on the list in 2011 behind Cincinnati. Chicago in 2012 was ranked just ahead of Detroit, Los Angeles and Denver in terms of exterminations by Orkin. Perhaps surprisingly, the nation’s largest city, New York, ranked 10th on the list.
Cleanliness is not a factor in bed bug infestations, but the creatures are drawn to clutter. Maybe too many Democrats???
