The Networks Don’t Blame Obama for Killing the Manned Space Program
The Big Three networks all recognized the 50th anniversary of John Glenn’s historic orbital spaceflight on their evening newscasts on Monday, February 20. Both NBC and CBS highlighted how there’s “no certainty when the U.S. will launch astronauts again, [and] Glenn worries America may be losing its edge.” But the networks failed to mention that President Obama put the decades-old endeavor in limbo, which led to the unemployment of thousands of technicians. Backlog Grows as State Treads Water
State of the State – payment delays expected to persist in Illinois, says Illinois Comptroller Republican Judy Baar Topinka. General Funds base spending decreased by $679 million, or 2.8 percent, through the first nine months of Fy 2012. For the third quarter specifically, spending increased $522 million. (more…)
