The ‘Anointed One’ Flouts The Law. Again
Last week, President Barack Obama announced a change in the immigration policy. What a difference a year makes — especially if you’re running for re-election and your pollsters tell you that you’re in deep … well, you know. (more…)
Walsh Talks to Small Business Owners; Promises Help
Every once in a while a politician surprises us by understanding that the “people back home” really do exist and are burdened by a host of problems the ‘privileged ones’ in our state capitals or Washington spend little time worrying about. From the beginning, Cong. Joe Walsh has been one of those politicians – maybe because he’s an ardent Tea Partier. Maybe it’s because he has a “feel” for the people in Illinois and his 8th Congressional District. (more…)
There’s Two Towns Obama Won’t Win This November
Just how cheap can you be? President Barack Obama has been absent from Washington, D.C. running around the nation raising money for re-election since he entered the Oval Office. Recently, he spoke at a gala dinner where attendees paid $40,000 a plate. Rubber chicken anyone? Obama has raised hundreds of millions of dollars and yet, according to reports, his organization is populated by a bunch of deadbeats. Who, trying to say it as delicately as possible, have shot the ‘finger’ to cities in Illinois and New Hampshire. Where’s the network news media? (more…)
Ignore Us At Your Own Peril
They like to refer to us as senior citizens, old fogies, geezers, and in some cases dinosaurs. Some of us are “Baby Boomers” getting ready to retire. Others have been retired for some time. Why RINO’s Are Dangerous For Our Future
Last week the Senate held a vote to rein in the EPA and stop the regulations that will all but kill the coal industry. On June 21, the measure was defeated by the Democrats. They had a little help from five Republicans. Early in his administration, in a nationally televised speech, Barack Obama promised radical environmentalists he would destroy the coal industry in America. It seems, that is one promise he is determined to keep. (more…)
Obama and LBJ Have Things in Common: Welfare Spending & Poverty Rate
The U.S. government is not making much headway reducing poverty despite spending hundreds of billions of dollars, according to a study by the libertarian Cato Institute. Despite an unprecedented increase in federal anti-poverty spending the national poverty rate has not declined, it finds. “[S]ince President Obama took office, federal welfare spending has increased by 41 percent, more than $193 billion per year.” the study says.
