Talking About Big Brother: Democrats’ Power Grab — Get Rid Of The Suburbs
President Obama is not a fan of America’s suburbs. Indeed, he intends to abolish them. With suburban voters set to be the swing constituency of the 2012 election, the administration’s plans for this segment of the electorate deserve scrutiny. Obama is a longtime supporter of “regionalism,” the idea that the suburbs should be folded into the cities, merging schools, housing, transportation, and above all taxation. To this end, the president has already put programs in place designed to push the country toward a sweeping social transformation in a possible second term. The goal: income equalization via a massive redistribution of suburban tax money to the cities. (more…)
Health Care Decision a Reminder of The Importance of The Judiciary
The reality is personal injury law firms in Chicago and California have a vested interest in what happens in our Metro-East counties because they flock to these counties to file their junk lawsuits. Madison and St. Clair Counties are collectively ranked the fifth-worst “Judicial Hellholes” in the country and having a fellow personal injury lawyer sitting on the 5th District Appellate Court would help preserve the status quo. Walsh Wants More Debates. Does Duckworth Want Any?
Congressman Joe Walsh (R-IL) responded to the Duckworth’s campaign claim that the debate schedule is set. As ICE News reported in its August 2 issue, Tammy Duckworth appears more interested in hanging out at east coast liberal fundraisers talking about gun control than back home in the 8th Illinois Congressional District appearing in debates and town hall meetings facing off against Tea Party favorite Joe Walsh. Could it be that her handler, David Axelrod doesn’t want her being asked hard questions that aren’t pre-screened? (more…)
Letter to Barack: Ida
I ran into Ida, that Independent voter I told you about that I find charming except that she has this pig-headed resistance to Progressive government. I chided her for the negative ads your opponent has been running. I just don’t think that sort of mudslinging has any place in American politics. Just yesterday, I saw a TV spot that claimed that you accused George Bush of being irresponsible and unpatriotic for running up a $300 billion deficit in one year and increasing the national debt by three trillion dollars in only eight years. Then they pointed out that you were running up trillion dollar deficits annually and had increased the national debt by five trillion dollars in three and a half years. Most scary proposition facing this nation is Barack Obama’s healthcare program because if you make it FREE and add 46,000,000 people to a Medicare-type single-payer system, the costs will go through the roof. Senate Republicans Filibuster Obama Judicial Nominee
In keeping with their vow to prevent any more of President Barack Obama’s appeals court nominees from being confirmed until after the election, Senate Republicans July 29 successfully upheld their filibuster of Judge Robert Bacharach’s nomination to the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, which is based in Denver. The filibuster came despite praise for Bacharach from the two GOP senators from Oklahoma, where he is currently a federal magistrate judge, and the support of three centrist Republicans who voted across the aisle.
