Barack Obama The: First president to violate the War Powers Act, First president to orchestrate the sale of Murder Weapons to Mexican drug cartels, First president to be held in contempt of court for illegally obstructing oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, First president to defy a federal judge’s court order to cease implementing the ‘Health Care Reform law (Obamacare), First president to spend a trillion dollars on ‘Shovel-Ready Jobs’ – and later admit there was no such thing as shovel-ready jobs and the First president to abrogate bankruptcy law to turn over control of companies to his union supporters.

Gallup released their annual state-by-state presidential approval numbers last week, and the results should have 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue very worried. If President Obama carries only those states where he had a net positive approval rating in 2011 (e.g. Michigan where he is up 48 percent to 44 percent), Obama would lose the 2012 election to the Republican nominee 323 electoral votes to 215.

Editor’s note: It is voters who turn out in primary elections, not random Americans called by pollsters, who determine the winners and losers in politics. If the latest news can be believed — and we have every reason to believe it — there is a conservative voting trend building, and its momentum is going to make it truly terrifying for liberals come November.

Gallup adds: Overall, Obama averaged 44% job approval in his third year in office, down from 47% in his second year. His approval rating declined from 2010 to 2011 in most states, with Wyoming, Connecticut, and Maine showing a marginal increase, and Massachusetts, Wisconsin, Minnesota, New Jersey, Arizona, West Virginia, Michigan, and Georgia showing declines of less than a full percentage point. The greatest declines were in Hawaii, South Dakota, Nebraska, and New Mexico.

Another Reason to Hope Gallup is Right:

Newsweek Contributor Compares Ann Romney to Hitler and Stalin. On Sunday, May 13, Newsweek/Daily Beast senior contributor Michelle Goldberg called Ann Romney “insufferable” on MSNBC its morning show. Seconds later, she also compared the wife of the presumptive Republican presidential nominee to Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin.

Goldberg began her Romney attack on Up with Chris Hayes by saying, “It can’t only be me that maybe initially saw Ann Romney as maybe a sympathetic or neutral figure but who is increasingly seeing her as someone who is kind of insufferable because of the way she’s milking this thing.”

This “thing” as Goldberg put it is motherhood. What an awful “thing” for a mother to “milk” the week of Mother’s Day.

“You know, yes, motherhood is beautiful,” Goldberg continued. “I found that phrase ‘the crown of motherhood’ really kind of creepy, not just because of its, like, somewhat you know, I mean, it’s kind of usually really authoritarian societies that give out like The Cross of Motherhood, that give awards for big families. You know, Stalin did it, Hitler did it.”

We hope and pray Gallup is right.

What is it with Barack Obama and the Democratic Party and their committment to Big Brother Syndrome? Hardly a day goes by without new revelations of government snooping, regulating and mandating intrusion into the private lives of Americans. Is that the Change and Transparency Barack and the DNC promised us?

US Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) just released documents (5/14/2012) in response to a Freedom of Information Act request, which reveals that DHS is considering collecting DNA from kids ages 14 and up—and is considering expanding its regulations to allow collection from kids that are younger.

The proposal appears to be working its way through DHS in the wake of regulations from the Department of Justice that require all federal agencies—including DHS and its components such as ICE—to collect DNA from individuals arrested for federal crimes as well as “from non-United States persons who are detained under the authority of the United States,” whether or not they have been involved in criminal activity. While the law specifically exempts a few classes of “aliens,” the documents show DHS may start DNA collection from anyone it fingerprints. Currently, that’s any child over 14 who’s detained, but investigation by reporters show the government could lower that age even more.

DHS estimates that as many as 1 million people who are subject to administrative detention or arrest annually could now be subject to DNA collection. But it’s important to note that many of these people are not involved in criminal activity. Collecting DNA from anyone detained by the government for any number of non-criminal reasons—especially juveniles—seems to be yet another step on the slippery slope to collecting DNA from everyone in the United States, no matter their status.

ICE is the first component within DHS to collect DNA under the new DOJ regulations. ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) offices in San Diego, St. Paul, and San Juan, Puerto Rico are part of a 6-month pilot program to test out the new procedures and were set to start collecting DNA around July 2010 . After the pilot program, the rest of HSI’s offices (more than 200 throughout the US and abroad) will start collecting DNA and presumably all other DHS components will follow suit shortly thereafter.

When the DOJ expanded its DNA collection regulations in 2009, it specifically required agencies to collect DNA from all populations they fingerprint. DHS regulations allow the agency to collect biometrics from aliens coming into the US who are 14 and older, so DHS can currently collect DNA from kids this age as well. However, the agency may also be considering collecting biometrics from kids younger than 14. A slide presentation from March 2011, titled “Working Group on Expanding the Biometric Age Range” notes that some DHS programs are already collecting biometrics from kids younger than 14 and proposes expanding the age range for more DHS entities (including ICE). Because of the DOJ regulations, this would mean that DHS could collect DNA even from very young kids.

It turns out that DHS is not the first federal or even state agency to collect DNA from juveniles.

The records ICE released show that the US Marshals are required to collect DNA from juveniles whenever the Marshals collect fingerprints. And the Drug Enforcement Agency’s (DEA) internal regulations make clear that “Both adults and juveniles who are fingerprinted are subject to DNA sample collection.”

Its agents may also collect DNA from non-United States persons who are merely detained (not formally arrested). And according to the Council for Responsible Genetics, twenty-eight states already collect DNA from juvenile offenders, as well.

However, a DNA collection program run by DHS feels very different because it could affect so many people who have no involvement with the criminal justice system. The DOJ argues that collecting DNA from all people arrested and non-US persons detained will allow it to find and identify more criminals, solve more crimes, and “prevent and deter subsequent criminal conduct.” but it is hard to see how that argument couldn’t be extended to apply with equal force to mandated DNA collection from everyone.

DNA reveals an extraordinary amount of private information about you, including family background, medical history, predisposition for disease, and possibly even behavioral tendencies and sexual orientation. Once the federal government collects a DNA sample—no matter which agency does the collection—the sample is sent to the FBI for storage, and the extracted profile is incorporated into the FBI’s massive CODIS database, which already contains over 10.5 million “offender” profiles. It is next to impossible to have your DNA expunged from the database once it’s already in there, and once it’s in CODIS it is subject to repeated warrantless searches from all levels of state and federal law enforcement.

Just in case you might have wondered how their ineptitude affected their lives after they ruined so many dreams and lives. Here’s a quick look into the three former Fannie Mae executives who brought down Wall Street.

Franklin Raines – was a Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Fannie Mae. Raines was forced to retire from his position with Fannie Mae when auditing discovered severe irregularities in Fannie Mae’s accounting activities. Raines left with a “golden parachute valued at $240 Millionin benefits. The Government filed suit against Raines when the depth of the accounting scandal became clear.

Tim Howard – was the Chief Financial Officer of Fannie Mae. Howard “was a strong internal proponent of using accounting strategies that wouldensure a “stable pattern of earnings” at Fannie. Investigations by federalregulators and the company’s board of directors since concluded that management did manipulate 1998 earnings to trigger bonuses. Raines and
Howard resigned under pressure in late 2004. Howard’s Golden Parachute was estimated at $20 Million!

Jim Johnson – A former executive at Lehman Brothers and who was later
forced from his position as Fannie Mae CEO. Investigators found that Fannie Mae had hidden a substantial amount of Johnson’s 1998 compensation from the public, reporting that it was between $6 millionand $7 million when it fact it was $21 million.” Johnson is currently under investigation for taking illegal loans from Countrywide while serving as CEO of Fannie Mae. Johnson’s Golden Parachute was estimated at $28 Million.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

FRANKLIN RAINES?
Raines works for the Obama Campaign as his Chief Economic Advisor.

TIM HOWARD?
Howard is a Chief Economic Advisor to Obama under Franklin Raines.

JIM JOHNSON?
Johnson was hired as a Senior Obama Finance Advisor and was selected to run Obama’s Vice Presidential Search Committee.

Obama and the Democratic Party: Change and Transparency … oh yeah.

Barack Obama openly spoke of repealing the Defense of Marriage Act at a fundraiser May 13, as he defended his personal view that gay couples should have the right to marry. While his administration has put out statements on the idea of repealing the 1996 federal law defining marriage as between a man and a woman, it’s made some supporters nervous Obama has called for its repeal. He did so Monday as one of a list of policy goals for what he hopes will be a second term, along with passing the immigration legislation known as the Dream Act, reforming Wall Street and investing in schools.

The president was raising money before an audience of gay and lesbian supporters in New York, hosted by the LGBT Leadership Council and openly gay singer Ricky Martin, as well as Latino group The Futuro Fund. His comments at the fundraiser were his first to such an audience since he announced last week his personal support for gay marriage.

“We have never gone wrong when we expanded rights and responsibilities to everybody,” Obama said. “That doesn’t weaken families, that strengthens families.”

Obama’s Republican opponent, Mitt Romney, says marriage is defined as being between a man and woman.

The Obama campaign, according to most accounts, was not originally planning to hit this issue this early in the season. But Vice President Biden, by personally voicing support for gay marriage more than a week ago, nudged the president along. Now, the two campaigns are diverging. Romney is focusing on the economy. And, for a change, the Democratic presidential campaign is hitting the social issues debate — as some on the right urge Romney to return fire.

Earlier Monday, Obama was taping an appearance with The View, where his announcement last Wednesday also came up. “A lot of this has to do with what’s called the Defense of Marriage act,” Obama said on the show. “It was passed originally when Hawaii started making noises about recognizing same sex marriage. The idea was we don’t want that drifting into the federal government and this is part of the reason why my justice department has said to the courts, we don’t think the Defense of Marriage Act is constitutional. This is something that historically had been determined at the state level.”

The Justice Department said in February 2011 that it would no longer defend the Defense of Marriage Act in the courts because the department deemed it unconstitutional, a move that sparked outcry from House Republicans, who vowed to pursue their own legal defense of the law.

The president’s recent schedule reflects a strong push by the Obama campaign to trumpet, not downplay, the president’s decision last week to support same-sex marriage — a historic first for a sitting U.S. president. Even the commencement address Obama delivered at Barnard College in New York last Monday afternoon had a same-sex marriage tinge — he shared the stage with Evan Wolfson, founder of the gay advocacy group Freedom to Marry, and touched on the issue briefly in his remarks.

“No matter who you love or what God you worship, you can still pursue happiness — I will support you every step of the way,” Obama said.

The campaign last week released a web video heralding the announcement, while casting Romney as “backwards on equality.” The president went on to raise nearly $15 million Thursday night from donors attending a campaign event at George Clooney’s house.

The president’s events Monday effectively pick up where he left off last week.

Romney and the Republican National Committee, though, are sticking to the issues of the economy and spending. The Republican National Committee released a new web video Monday slamming Obama for his “broken promises” on deficits and debt.

Audit: Big Problems in Ill. Tuition Savings Plan: A new audit finds major problems in the College Illinois tuition savings program, including possible financial conflicts among top personnel. Auditor General William Holland reported Wednesday that the former executive director of College Illinois did not disclose conflicts of interest. And another official made a $500,000 investment with an investment manager that was applying to handle the program’s money.

The report says College Illinois also ignored or changed its criteria for deciding how to invest money that participants put into the program. Meanwhile, costs nearly tripled in just five years. The prepaid-tuition program has stopped accepting new customers. The Illinois Student Assistance Commission says new leadership has already begun making changes and adding new safeguards.

Joe Walsh to Congress: No Budget, No Pay

Tea Partier demands vote to put an end to Members’ pay if an annual budget is not passed.

Congressman Joe Walsh (IL-8) on May 16, doubled down on his support for the bipartisan No Budget, No Pay Act. The bill states that if Congress does not pass a budget and all appropriations bills by October 1st every year, then Members of Congress do not get paid. Congressman Walsh is a co-sponsor of this legislation and a member of the Fix Congress Now Caucus.

Walsh stated: “The No Budget, No Pay Act is simple –if we don’t do our work, we don’t get paid. It has been more than 1,000 days since Congress has passed a budget and 15 years since appropriation bills were passed on time. This is absolutely unacceptable and a complete failure.

“I came to Washington to change the way this town does business. This bill brings us one step closer to ending a dysfunctional Congress. Americans work hard to earn their paychecks and Members of Congress should not be any different. I took an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution, and we have a Constitutional responsibility to pass a budget. If we don’t do the work, then we shouldn’t get paid either. I plan to push this legislation in the coming weeks. The first step is encouraging House Leadership to bring this up for a vote immediately.”

Should the US and Mexico Seek Deeper Economic Integration?
In an exclusive interview with LIGNET.com, James Hoge of the Council on Foreign Relations says the United States should provide more assistance to Mexico to fight the drug cartels and that Mexico, Canada and the United States should move toward greater integration.

Typical Democrat Reasoning: Unborn Babies Count in the White House: One pro-lifer finds it interesting that pregnant mothers must register their preborn babies before taking a tour of the White House, considering the fact that the current occupant of the White House is pro-abortion. A recent e-mail newsletter distributed by Ellie Schafer, director of the White House Visitors Office, provides specifics about the information required for an unborn baby visitor, including the child’s gender. “Crazy as it may sound, you MUST include the baby in the overall count of guests in the tour,” Schafer writes. Given the president’s stance on abortion, Douglas Johnson of the National Right to Life Committee (NRLC) does not understand this security measure.

“We think that it’s ironic that President Obama’s staff recognizes the existence of unborn babies for purposes of providing security within the White House, and yet there’s no indication that President Obama has any problem, for example, with the fact that throughout the District of Columbia, abortion is now legal for any reason up to the moment of birth,” he notes.

South China Sea: New Chinese Aggression Escalates Tensions: Tensions in the oil-rich South China Sea are likely to rise with China deploying an oil rig and increasing its naval presence in disputed territorial waters. China shows no signs of letting the United Nations or any other international forum arbitrate the matter and is irritated at what it claims is U.S. meddling in the region.

Rural Kids Parents Angry About Labor Dept. Rule banning Farm Chores: A proposal from the Obama administration to prevent children from doing farm chores has drawn plenty of criticism from rural-district members of Congress. But now it’s attracting barbs from farm kids themselves. The Department of Labor is poised to put the finishing touches on a rule that would apply child-labor laws to children working on family farms, prohibiting them from performing a list of jobs on their own families’ land. Under the rules, children under 18 could no longer work “in the storing, marketing and transporting of farm product raw materials.”

“Prohibited places of employment,” a Department press release read, “would include country grain elevators, grain bins, silos, feed lots, stockyards, livestock exchanges and livestock auctions.” The new regulations, first proposed August 31 by Labor Secretary Hilda Solis, would also revoke the government’s approval of safety training and certification taught by independent groups like 4-H and FFA, replacing them instead with a 90-hour federal government training course.

Media & Hollywood Bias

CBS News Skips Own Poll When Romney’s Leading: The latest CBS News/New York Times poll not only shows Mitt Romney ahead of Barack Obama by three points, but also that Romney is leading among women voters. That was such an embarrassing result that CBS This Morning totally skipped it on Tuesday. By contrast, on ABC’s Good Morning America, George Stephanopoulos and Jake Tapper openly discussed how it’s a “stunning poll” and “bad news for Obama.”

Letterman: Bush-Cheney Didn’t Want to Get bin Laden: In a particularly sleazy allegation, David Letterman on Tuesday night alleged former President George W. Bush and former Vice President Dick Cheney “went soft” on finding Osama bin Laden “because they were worried about upsetting their Saudi Arabian royalty buddies.” Talk about a lack of civility and respect for elected officials. Letterman’s impugning of the former administration came during a sit-down with NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams, just after Letterman charged “we invaded Iraq because Cheney wanted to help out his buddies at Brown and Root and Halliburton.” He then moved on to his allegation about protecting the Saudi Arabian royalty before hailing the “great courage and great intelligence” displayed by President Obama: “So now Osama bin Laden finally is gunned down by Barack Obama, displaying great courage and great intelligence. What more do you want to lead your country than that kind of courage and that kind of intelligence?”

CNN’s Don Lemon: Mitt Romney Like George Wallace: CNN’s Don Lemon compared Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney to former Alabama governor — and segregationist — George Wallace on Sunday evening. What prompted the jarring comparison? Romney’s commencement speech at Liberty University, where he said marriage is between a man and a woman. The openly-gay CNN anchor played Romney’s words immediately after a clip of Governor Wallace crying for “segregation now, segregation tomorrow, and segregation forever!” Wallace, Lemon explained, later “evolved” and lived to regret those words, and opponents of same-sex marriage might do the same. The subject of the segment was “words that come back to haunt you.”

Oregon, like most other states do not allow illegal aliens to legally obtain a state driver’s license. But the Democrats running the state of Oregon don’t agree with that concept. What really is happening, is whenever a police officer pulls over a driver and determines that they are an illegal alien, the police can only issue them a citation and then send them on their merry way.

Most Americans question such a policy and wondered why the illegals are not arrested, jailed and then deported. Giving them a citation and releasing them is rather stupid. Why would anyone expect someone who is here illegally believe they would follow legal procedures by showing up in court and paying their fine? If they were going to do things legally, they would have entered the country legally to begin with.

In a move that typifies the Democratic Party’s disdain for federal immigration laws or for their lax attitude in border security, Oregon’s Democratic Governor John Kitzhaber has issued an order to police to accept the Mexican government issued ID cards. Known as Matricula Consular or Consular Registration cards, they are nothing more than a Mexican identification card and have nothing to do with the ability to drive a motor vehicle. But Kitzhaber’s instructions to police is that if they pull over an illegal alien who shows a Matricula Consular card, the officer is to just let them go on their merry way.

This has raised the concern of some people such as Ira Mehlman, media director for the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) said that the Mexican government admits that the Matricula Consular cards are not the most secure or accurate documentation. He responded to Kitzhaber’s announcement by saying,

“It should be the obligation of police officers in Oregon to keep the roads safe. If somebody doesn’t have a driver’s license, it should be more than just a fine that’s never going to get paid and sending the guy on his way. The Matricula Consular card doesn’t tell Oregon anything other than who you are. It’s going to be very, very difficult for them to collect on it. And even more important, they should be taking steps to ensure that that person doesn’t go back out on the road and that that person is removed from the country.”

As a US citizen, if you were caught driving in Oregon without a valid driver’s license, it wouldn’t matter what other identification you had on, you would be cited for driving without a license and either released or detained. But if an illegal Mexican is stopped by police and they produce a Matricula Consular card, they won’t be cited for driving without a license.

This is so typical of the Democratic Party to give more benefits and privileges to people who enter our country illegally than it does to our own law abiding citizens. Democrats like Kitzhaber, Obama and Holder are more of a danger to US citizens than most people realize and they all need to be voted out of office as quickly as possible.

ICE News isn’t surprised, but some political pundits may be wondering why President Obama decided to take a controversial stance on gay marriage with November’s election approaching soon. The pro-gay marriage position will not help the president with swing voters in Ohio, Virginia, North Carolina or rust belt states like Michigan. Obama is trailing Mitt Romney in many polls. Is it because Obama has forsaken White Christian voters in America and is banking on Hollywood leftists and the gay lobby to put him over the top in November?

The big clue for Obama’s decision to abandon his previous stand supporting nuclear families a.k.a. traditional marriage comes from the New York Times, which reports that the president’s re-election effort will benefit from Hollywood money.

The so-called billion dollars Obama war chest for his re-election hasn’t materialized.

The Times notes that during his first term, Obama “has largely been absent in Hollywood, a point of unhappiness with a community accustomed to the constant doting of Bill Clinton.”

But that has apparently all changed, and the paper said Hollywood insiders lined up to fork over $40,000 a table for an upcoming private fundraiser for Obama at superstar actor George Clooney’s home.

“Mr. Obama’s announcement on Wednesday that he now supported same-sex marriage should assure him a warm reception at the Clooney residence,” the Times said.

Editor’s note: According to FOX News, the fundraiser at Clooney’s home raised $15 million for Obama. My, the Hollywood Liberals doooo love him, don’t they.

According to other reports, Obama’s endorsement for same-sex marriage is reaping strong Hollywood support.

The Times said: “Norman Lear, the television producer, said moments after the announcement that he and his wife, Lyn, who had held back from giving money to Mr. Obama, would now contribute the maximum allowed, $80,000 between them. ‘This is the kind of leadership we support, and we are happy to max out today to his re-election campaign,’ he said.”

It’s comes as no surprise the elite media is ecstatic over Obama flip-flopping on this issue.

On ABC’s World News, last Wednesday, Diane Sawyer and Robin Roberts hyped Barack Obama’s endorsement of gay marriage as a “historic,” “riveting” “cultural event.” The interview played more as an infomercial for the President, featuring long stretches of Obama talking with no pesky, interrupting questions. Anchor Diane Sawyer enthused, “Well, as we said this is a historic cultural and political event in this country.” In the tease for the interview, Sawyer trumpeted, “Tonight on World News, a historic ABC News interview. President Obama takes a stand on same sex marriage.” In the segment, Roberts didn’t push the President on why his “evolution” took 17 months.

In a panel discussion on Thursday’s NBC Today about President Obama announcing his support for gay marriage, co-host Savannah Guthrie confessed to the group of all liberal pundits: “…so many people in the media seem to uniformly support same-sex marriage.”

That fact was made blatantly obvious by the discussion that preceded Guthrie’s admission. The panel featured openly gay CNBC host Suze Orman, who voiced her support of the President’s move: “Yeah, part of me is like, ‘What took you so long, President Obama?’ This is something that should have been done, in my opinion anyway – obviously, I would think that – a long time ago.”

Money, money, and more money?

The Federation for American Immigration Reform has estimated that the total cost of education for illegals is $52 billion a year. The report says Texas is saddled with $16.4 billion of that amount.

However, it is important to point out that this cost includes American-born children of people living here illegally. It is argued that we can’t count these children because under current policy, they are considered U.S. citizens, even though their parents are not and even though many of their mothers illegally came to the U.S. for the sole purpose of having a child. While we are not so sure the correct interpretation of the 14th Amendment makes these children automatic citizens, the Supreme Court has not issued a ruling on the issue of birthright citizenship.

The November elections, both state and federal, mean everything. VOTE

Cong. Walsh’s amendment would cut funding to cities that refuse to enforce immigration laws. Chicago is one of many choosing to ignore federal immigration laws. Such policies encourage the flood of illegal immigrants that are putting enormous strains on medical and social services and bankrupting the country.

On May 10, the House of Representatives voted to include Congressman Joe Walsh’s (IL-8) amendment in the Commerce, Justice, and Science Appropriations Bill. The Walsh amendment prohibits the Department of Justice from awarding funds to “sanctuary cities”- cities that offer protection or assistance to illegal immigrants. The federal government has continued to give these cities resources to be the first line of defense in combating illegal immigration even though they refuse to enforce federal immigration laws.

Walsh stated: “If cities and states refuse to enforce the immigration laws that are on the books they will no longer receive taxpayer funds to do so. There are far too many sanctuary cities in this country, and there is absolutely no reason the government should continue to fund them. I cannot and will not ask the taxpayers from Illinois’ 8th district to fund this type of program. The misuse of taxpayer funds has gone on for far too long and must be stopped.

“I am pleased that this legislation passed the House today. This brings us one step closer to real immigration reform.”

The Walsh amendment was adopted by voice vote to HR 5326, which passed the House of Representatives on May 10, 2012.

Editor’s note: Congressman Walsh’s amendment will find no supporters at the DNC and senators Harry Reid and Dick “Tricky Dick” Durbin will do everything they can to kill it. This will get Durbin’s, David Axelrod’s, Rahm Emanuel’s and Tammy Duckworth’s noses out of joint. Why, because it could energize the American voter and threatens an entire voting block that the Democrats are counting on to keep them in power for decades.

It all started in 2010 with the Freedom From Religion Foundation filed a lawsuit against Giles County School Board for the Ten Commandment display at Narrows High School near Roanoke, Va. The Ten Commandment display in the high school had been there for years, but to no surprise, the anti-Christian organization FFRF jumped on the situation as soon as they found out about it.

The case of Doe v School Board of Giles County resulted in the removal of the Ten Commandment display which in turned caused a huge uproar from the local community. In reaction to the lawsuit, one private citizen from the area funded a multi-document display that was in accordance with federal court rulings. The display included the Declaration of Independence, Mayflower Compact, Magna Carta, Ten Commandments and Thomas Jefferson’s letter to the Danbury Baptists. It is this letter that many have argued for the separation of church of state by taking Jefferson’s words completely out of context.

When presented with the display by the citizen and being assured that it was funded 100% by private money and that it met the judicial rulings for legal displaying of historical documents upon which American law was established, the Giles County School Board voted to accept the gift and have it displayed at Narrows High School. After the vote, school board member Joseph Gollehon was asked if he voted for the display because he was a Christian. According to World News Daily, Gollehon replied, “It had much to do with it.”

Following this admission by Gollehon, the ACLU filed suit to have the Ten Commandments removed from the display on the grounds that one of the school board members who voted for it (Gellehon) was a Christian. The suit is not denying that the Ten Commandments can be taught or that they had an integral role in America’s legal foundations, but they are objecting that they are being displayed in a location where students can actually see them. And they blame it on the admission of one board member that approved it partially because he was a Christian.

The Giles County School Board is fighting the lawsuit with the help of the Liberty Counsel. Founder and chairman of the Liberty Counsel Matt Staver commented about the case saying, “The ACLU has done everything it could to run from the facts and the laws that control this case.

The Foundations of American Law and Government display has been upheld by multiple federal courts of appeal. It is clearly appropriate to include the Ten Commandments in a display on law, because there is no dispute that they helped shape American law and government.”

In other words, if the entire school board were atheists and voted to approve the display, the ACLU would have no grounds to file suit to have the Ten Commandments removed. In essence, the lawsuit filed by the American Communists Lawyers Union (oops, I mean American Civil Liberties Union) says that Christians have no rights to make such decisions, but anyone else can make the same or different decision and that is perfectly legal.

In all of these cases involving the Ten Commandments and other Christian displays, it always seems to be based upon the fact that one person is offended by the display and their lone complaint ends up being the determining factor. In this case, one student claims to be offended by the Ten Commandments being included in the display and even though the parent is a Christian and believes in the Ten Commandments, filed the suit on behalf of their poor offended child.

But what about the majority of people in the community that are Christians and are offended by the actions of the one student? Shouldn’t that account for something? The US Constitution starts with “We the People” not “I the Person.” The people of Narrows, Virginia need to flood the courthouse, the courtroom, the offices of every politician at local, county, state and national levels, that represent them. It’s time the voice of the majority be heard over the whining of one individual. It’s time Americans quit caving into the complaints of the few. It’s time Americans take back their constitutional rights that have been stripped away by God hating liberal whiners.
