In 1887 Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years prior: “A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. Under the Radar, Tea Party Shaping Elections
It’s been said that the Revolutionary War was one of the first guerrilla wars. The Redcoats (British army) was used to fighting on open fields, marching in fixed columns toward the enemy and firing in formation. They invaded the colonies sure they would quickly and with little loss of life (theirs) crush the Colonials. They failed. Their core values are fiscal responsibility, constitutionally limited government, free market system and national security.
