The Obama re-election machine operating from its Chicago stronghold must be feeling enormous pressure after losing the battle in the recall election of Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker. Obama guru David Axelrod, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel (Obama’s former chief of staff) and Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin – Obama’s go-to guy, are the forces behind Duckworth’s candidacy and the Democratic Party’s multi-million dollar efforts to regain control of the U.S. House of Representatives. Are they having second thoughts about convincing Illinois voters that Tammy Duckworth really is a viable alternative to Tea Party firebrand Joe Walsh? If not, maybe they should be. (more…)
