Ryan Budget Real Spending Discipline
House Republicans introduced an ambitious, if risky during an election year, budget plan to restructure the way government operates and set the Nation on a course to eliminate its deficits by 2040. The proposal, authored by Representative Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), would reduce debt by reshaping Medicare and Medicaid while deeply cutting other domestic spending and reshaping the tax code to give Americans lower tax rates. October Saw a Debit Increase of $650 for Every Man, Woman & Child in U.S.
How’s this for a kick in the shins. The federal government’s debt increased by $203,368,715,583.63 in the month of October, according to the U.S. Treasury. That equals about $650 per person for each of the 312,542,760 people the Census Bureau now estimates live in the United States. Thank you, Barack. Oh, we mustn’t forget the rest of the Democratic Party, too!
Durbin in Secret Meetings on Government Spending
Democrats in Washington have kicked into full campaign mode, attacking Republican Budget Chair Paul Ryan’s (R-WI) plan to help end the government’s spending binge and help create a better environment for job creation in America. But whose budget is best for America – Barack Obama’s with Illinois Senator Dick Durbin strong backing, or the Republicans?
Ground Zero Mosque Developers Seek Federal Funds
Developers of the controversial Park51 Islamic community center and mosque located two blocks from Ground Zero earlier this month applied for roughly $5 million in federal grant money set aside for the redevelopment of lower Manhattan after the attacks of September 11th, according to two sources with direct knowledge of the matter.
A Few Points’ New Legislators Need to Address
Here are several suggestions Ice News has for freshmen Republicans. Pay close attention if you want to keep the “people back home” happy.
11th District Congressman says ‘Congress Must Wrestle ‘Mighty Deficit’
Washington needs to get spending under control, says Rep.-elect Adam Kinzinger. The Illinois Republican is an Air National Guard pilot. Kinzinger defeated first-term Democratic Congresswoman Debbie Halvorson in Illinois’ 11th congressional district. He received heavy backing from Tea Party activists and an endorsement from former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
Obama: Instead of Cutting SS Cost of Living Benefits to senior citizens and Slashing Medicare, try looking into these areas
The deficit is estimated at $13 trillion – a cost to every living American a whopping $118,000. One of the many reasons for the deficit is Social Security payments to legal and illegal immigrants. Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security are the greatest causes of our runaway federal spending. These entitlement programs gobble up about one-tenth of GDP and are expected to double by 2055.
US Military Builds 3,000 foot-long Bombproof Tunnel so Obama Can Go to Gandhi Museum
It appears nothing is too expensive – or too silly – when it comes to making Barack Obama happy. Probably not since the days of the Pharaohs or the Roman Emperors has a head of state travelled in such pomp and expensive grandeur as the President of the United States of America.
What The Hell is Going on Here!
The United States is trillions of dollars in debt. Unemployment is nudging ten percent. The Democrats have taken the worst drubbing in the midterm elections in fifty years, and Barack Obama is jetting off to the Far East on trip that will cost the US a whopping $200 million per day.
Obama made this historic trip to the Taj Mahal along with his family on November 7. His visit is historic in terms of logistics, which is the largest ever for a visiting US president. Estimates for the entire trip run from $1 billion to $2 billion, if you take into account trips to China, South Korea, Japan and Indonesia, where Obama will visit a mosque.
Election Promises Republicans Better Remember
The 2010 Index of Economic Freedom lowered the ranking of the United States to eighth out of 179 nations — behind Canada. A year ago, it ranked sixth, ahead of Canada. Do not say its Barack Obama’s fault. Half the data used in the index is from George W. Bush’s final six months in office – of course, the Democrats were running the Senate and House by then. But, this IS a bipartisan problem.
