Gay Flag’s Fly, a Cross is Removed from Army Chapel, Atheist Rally Sponsored on Military Base
The U.S. military hosted an event for soldiers and others who don’t believe in God. It was called “Rock Beyond Belief.” A so-called ‘gay’ flag flew over a U.S. military base in Afghanistan two weeks ago. Last year, the Obama Administration banned the Christian cross from a worship tent in Afghanistan: the cross was considered to be offensive. The Democrat’s secular movement is a freight train barreling through the U.S. military. This is the change Barack Obama was really talking about. (more…)
Civil Unions Spark Fight over Adoptions in Illinois
Though it is not currently a hot ticket debate in Illinois, there is a battle looming between Conservatives and Liberals in Illinois over adoptions by gay and lesbian couples. Neither political party can voice exclusive support for either side of this issue. It does appear that the majority Democratic Party does not see eye-to-eye with Catholic charities.
We Can Still Block the Repeal of ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’
Question: What is the current state of the 1993 law that barred homosexuality in the Armed Forces (known as “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”)? If you said that the law has been repealed and that open homosexual behavior is now welcome in the military, you would be wrong. Yeah, I know, you thought the Lame Duck Democratic-controlled Congress passed the bill to repeal it last year.” It did, and President Obama signed it on December 22, 2010. But…
Military to be Indoctrinated on Gays Kissing, other Behavior
The left wing social scientists in the Democratic Party are at it again: advancing the gay agenda, that is. Despite the fact that two-thirds of U.S. Marine combat forces believe that placing gays in their units would hurt their effectiveness in the field, according to a survey ordered by the Defense Department. This is a battle for the morale and cohesiveness of our military forces and the fact is there’s no time to waste.
Obama Determined to Erase Don’t Ask Don’t Tell
Combat troops to get gay sensitivity training. New policy OK’d for battlefield. American combat troops will get sensitivity training directly on the battlefield about the military’s new policy on homosexuality instead of waiting until they return to home base in the United States, according to a Pentagon spokesman.
The Pentagon is launching an extensive force-wide program to ease the process of integrating open homosexuals into the ranks, including into close-knit fighting units. A policy many long-time members of the military say could have disastrous results in re-enlistments and discipline.
State Dept. Removes Mother, Father from Passports
In what seems to be a diplomatic effort at extreme political correctness and a nod to gay rights groups, the Obama administration is removing the words “mother” and “father” from U.S. passport applications and replacing them with “gender neutral” terminology. Mom and dad will now be referred to rather coldly as “parent one” and “parent two.” Conservative Christian groups are outraged over the decision.
Marines Say Gays Will Harm Combat Forces
Two-thirds of U.S. Marine combat forces believe that placing gays in their units would hurt their effectiveness in the field, according to a survey the Defense Department ordered.
Westat Corp., a polling firm, surveyed more than 115,000 active duty service members, including 989 men serving in Marine combat units.
Kirk votes to repeal D.A.D.T. – Did We Make a Mistake?
In a landmark vote for gay rights, Sen. Harry Reid and fellow Democrats in the Senate voted Saturday to let gays serve openly in the military, giving President Barack Obama the chance to fulfill a campaign promise and repeal the 17-year policy known as “don’t ask, don’t tell.” The Senate voted 63 to 33 Saturday in favor of cloture on the bill. Six Republicans voted with the Democrats: Scott Brown, Susan Collins, Olympia Snowe, Lisa Murkowski, George Voinovich, and newly elected Illinois Senator Mark Kirk.
Kirk Keeps His Word to Voters on Military Vote
Illinois’ new senator, Republican Mark Kirk helped block legislation that would have repealed the military’s ban on gays serving openly. The vote caused Democrats to fall three votes short last Thursday in overcoming procedural hurdles with Republicans who, like Kirk, have said the focus needs to be on reviving expiring tax cuts at the exclusion of nearly everything else. The vote means congressional action on repeal is unlikely anytime soon.
McCain Calls Pentagon Study on Gays Flawed. He Vows to Fight.
Directly challenging the Pentagon’s top leadership, Arizona Republican Sen. John McCain on Thursday snubbed a military study on gays as flawed and said letting them serve openly would be dangerous in a time of war.
