Our Illinois Pensions
The funniest thing is going on back in Illinois! The governor and the Legislature are bickering over when “pension reform” might come about. What difference does it make? Anyone who knows their way around an Income Statement and Balance Sheet knows that the Illinois economy is never going to generate enough revenue to meet more than a fraction of its obligations. Who cares about “pension reform” except the recipients of public pensions? As far as the 95% of the Illinois citizens who do not have public pensions are concerned, “when the money runs out, the money runs out”. For the teacher’s pensions, this will be in about eight years.
