After just over one year in power, North Korea’s novice leader, 30-year old Kim Jong Un, hasdashed hopes that he will change course from the brinkmanship-style policies pursued by his late father, Kim Jong Il. For the first time in decades, U.S. intelligence and defense analysts believe the threat of an outbreak of significant hostilities on the Korean peninsula is a distinct possibility. Our Veterans Are Getting Shafted
In the last four years, we have seen unprecedented federal stimulus spending; massive bailouts to favored industries and state and local governments; and historically high deficits and debt—all of which we were told were necessary to get this nation back to work. Yet the economy under Barack Obama’s administration is just treading water, barely. Nationally, the unemployment/underemployment rates for veterans is at an all-time high. In Illinois, a state suffering under the iron-hand of a socialist Democrat Party led by House Speaker Michael Madigan and Governor Pat Quinn, the unemployment rate among veterans is above the national average.
