Barack Obama and his campaign have been making Mitt Romney’s time at Bain Capital the target of their pitiful attack ads. Ads that have backfired in their faces, by the way. They decided they could hurt Romney’s changes of winning this November by using a sycophantic and fawning news media to report that Bain had outsourced jobs during the restructuring of the companies they acquired. So what point is Obama trying to make? During the time he points to, 1999-2002, the executives at Bain donated thousands of dollars to Obama for his campaign. We have no doubt that Barack Obama was not at all upset about jobs being outsourced as long as he got some big, fat checks from the (Bain) executives. (more…)

If nothing else you read today frightens you, this should. The United States is rapidly becoming the very first “post-industrial” nation on the globe. All great economic empires eventually become fat and lazy and squander the great wealth that their forefathers have left them, but the pace at whichAmerica is accomplishing this is absolutely disturbing. In 1959, manufacturing represented 28 percent of U.S. economic output. In 2008, it represented 11.5 percent.
